Ebay Concerns

Ok so, I got off the phone today with someone at NZ post who checked the tracking of my amp through a worldwide postal tracking site... And apparently it hasn't left Chicago... There were no flight details at all. It also says on the USPS site that it was "processed through sort facility", but it doesn't say if it is in transit... What the hell...?!

The deadline when you needed it has come and gone, it's either in Chicago or not, nobody seems to know and........the seller does not give a damn about you.

Ask paypal for a full refund and if the amp does eventually appear, double win. Then the seller can experience what it's like to be ignored. :smug:

does nobody read? Leave the seller out of it. Dollars to donuts it's in NZ customs by now.

Apparently, it's not in NZ customs. Where's that nearest donut shop? :eyebrow:

That means it arrived at the hub for Chicago and left the (USPS)sort hub for its next stop. Thats about as much info as the USPS normaly gives untill delivered. It could be at its next stop and never left that point or could have continued on. I hope it was insured, if so, time to file a claim with the USPS.

Your problem will be that if it's missing the original shipper needs to file claims etc.. Wait as long as you can but make sure you file a claim through ebay/paypal before the cut off expires. They don't give a stuff about you know - they sure as hell won't help out if they don't have to.

Hoorah.

USPS postal insurance is a rort but it's very handy. The sender must keep the postal receipt. For the extremely rare case of Post losing your stuff you have some recourse.

Apparently the postal insurance is slower than slow to go through the system and it doesn't pay out anywhere near full value but its better than nothing and it takes pressure off the seller to be "on the hook" from some crazy buyer.

If something like this goes down you tell the seller you need to claim the insurance. If he ignores you then it's time to go down the paypal dispute path.

If a buyer doesn't want to pay for the insurance don't sell it to him!

I got it a few hours ago. Was planning on being productive today, but that plan has gone out the window... I've been making the house vibrate since I plugged it in. So happy with it! Except I can't seem to get that "Ampeg grind" - I've cranked the gain to about 5 o'clock, but don't want to push it too hard - the input/clipping light flashes. Any settings worthy of trying? Cheers

Afaik the 7 pro won't do the 'cranked all tube amp' grind. It'll just give a decent amount of 'fur'.
Sure, use the clip light as a reference & don't worry about it being on for pretty much every note.
But for the SVT power tube grind, just use a VT bass pedal either before it, or into the FX loop, which is great with its level control on the front panel.
Excellent for blending OD with your original signal.
When I had my SVT II, I never really used the power tube OD, was simply too loud to do this at most of my gigs. So, I just ran the VT BASS pedal into it. Works wonders!
