Ebay: what the correct thing to do ?

Hi !

I placed a bid on a bass on ebay and the owner seems to have99%+ positive feedback. The bass has a high action and the owner states that it needs an adjustment, so I decided AFTER (yes, I should have done it before) having placed my bid, to ask whether the truss road works ok.

Since yesterday I'm waiting response, in the description it doesn't say anything about the truss road correctly working so, if the seller doesn't answer, can I take my bid away ?

Thanks a lot !
Paolo

You can take your bid away now. I'm not sure about the process since its been so long since I've done it, but I'm sure it can be done. As long as its just one bid (it doesn't look like you were working with the seller to artificially raise the price) and you do it before the auction ends, there shouldn't be a problem.

Can't be done with less than 24 hours to go

The reasons are canned and do not allow for any auction specific comments for your reason

It is recorded, however a withdraw is better than an incomplete and negative feed back

I backed out of two auctions after winning EIGHT years ago the negatives and commenst are still in my ratings

BAD NEWS! Backs out of bids. Bid is NO GOOD. E MAIL for details. musicpals ( 11499) No longer a registered user May-04-99 20:14

Was high bidder, E-mailed me a week later and backed out!!! Mar-04-99 04:30

Needless to say both were mega feedback sellers, that reply to any negatives with caustic responses

Would have been better off to start a new profile an leave that behind . . . . Another flaw to the system

Thank you so much all,

I've retracted my bid... I still wish to buy the bass, I just need confirmation that the truss rod is ok... if ti has high action and I cannot correct it unexpensively, than it's not the bass for me.

Let's see, Paolo
