EBMM Sterling VS Stingray

Its everything a Stingray is, just with a 1.5 inch neck and the Sterling profile. Everything else is 100% Stingray.

Don't forget the sterling also has the series/parallel switch like the sr5. This in itself gives some different tonal variation.

Here we go:

- The "Sterling by Music Man" basses just began production this year and are made outside the U.S.

- The "MusicMan Sterling" bass is made in California and has been in production for many years. In that respect it is similar to the StingRay, albeit a bit more "streamlined" in appearance with the smaller body and thinner neck. Someone has explained it as, StingRay is to Sterling as P-Bass is to J-Bass and I guess that's about the best analogy I've seen.

I think this was a huge mistake on EBMM part to name the korean basses "Sterling Musicman" Its going to create a lot of confusion.

I much prefer the Sterling to the Stingray. The Stingrays play pretty good but I like the smaller body size and slimmer neck of the sterling.

this thread started out ok, but it took a nosedive into a pile of fresh turn at the top of page 2...

Getting back on topic, I prefer the Stingray neck. My SR4 has full-bell-tone brass bawls.
However, I did fall in love with a Sterling 5 HH most recently. But I think I'll have to get my engineering degree before I can afford one.
