Have you noticed that you have to keep the pickup height very low? I had problems with intonating the B string. It turns out it was the pickup height. I also find the when the pickup is set high, I loose a lot of the highs. I suspect that the pickups have such strong poles pieces that they pull the strings out of tune and dampen the highs. What is your experience?
Yes, I dropped my neck pick up really low and don’t really find myself using the other positions as much as I used to. I might be on team H now for these basses.
I‘m still struggling to find the ideal pickup height. Sometimes my tone feels unbalanced, with the E and A strings louder than the D and G.
Generally speaking, bass side should be set lower, but I've set mine at 3.0mm on both treble and bass sides. The same is for my Caprice. Those MM pickups seem well balanced when it comes to string volume.
Anyway, yesterday I took my Special to rehearsals again. No pedalboard, no effects, nothing, just the bass and a clip on tuner. The room was new and I didn't know the amp at all (an Ampeg BA series), so I just set everything at noon on both the amp and the bass. I did just some minor adjustments on the bass between songs and it sounded stellar.
This bass has a real clear, present, muscular tone that allows me play softer and be heard very well in the mix. For the New Wave project we are doing at the moment, this thing is absolutely stellar.
Its been 3 days since i recieved my stingray special. It came with light strings set , have never played on thiner set than this (dont know the exact gauge , i bought the bass on ebay). When i play it in my room on low volume there is no problem but when i play with a drummer G and D strings seems to lose their punch . Any tips? 
I'll change strings to 45-100 , hope it will fix my issue .

You might raise the G-string side or lower the E-string side of your p’ups a little. Also, boosting the mids can help.
I don’t notice any loss of punch on my Specials’ high strings. (They are 5-strings.)
The shiny chrome hardware on this bass bothered me so much for months after I bought it. I couldn't stop thinking about how much better it would look with nickel finished hardware. The mirror guard fixed all of that for me and now the whole thing makes me super happy.
I’m really agreeing with that sentiment more and more. Keeping an allen key handy on me at all times when I’m playing is getting old. I’m really stunned with how frustrating this problem is. I can’t imagine they’ll do anything other than tell me to pound sand
I went the nail polish route and it seems to be holding. However, this isn't an old Fender bridge, it's a brand new design. Perhaps they took too much metal away. Never had any issues with their old design. Kinda wish I could use one of those.
I don’t know yet which strings I like best on my stingray special. Do you guys still stick with the stock strings?
The stock Slinkys work very well. I also find Cobalt rounds and Low Rider nickels work very well, too.

After changing strings to Ernie Ball Slinky 45-100 everything sounds fine . <3 Its my first stingray and I'm so excited .
I was called to do a couple of recordings for some friends. Again, I've set everything at noon on the amp, the same on my Special. I swear, I didn't touch anything for all the tracks. This thing just works.
So I bought a charcoal sparkle 5 string back in August. I loved it so much I decided to pick up a white 4 string as well.

It’s difficult to express how much I love these stingray specials. I can get virtually any sound I want out of it.

My five string is also HH. I MUST have a neck pick up. I prefer the different sounds that are capable when switching between pickups. Or being being balanced between bridge and neck.
Don’t get me wrong I think the H’s sound good too.
I just have to have the bridge pickup as well.
