How about the new BFR Stingray? I'm not usually big on black basses but this one is pretty:

I’ve not been big on the gold hardware, but this black/gold look is really catching my eye. As another said, good thing it’s a 4, or I’d be obsessing hard right now.

Here's my new Stingray Special 5H, Ghost Pepper finish (which looks absolutely similar to Fender's Candy Apple Red, compared to my Jazz Bass Am. Or. 60) with Ebony board

Gotta admit, at first I was a bit skeptical, but after having tried it A/B with the previous SR5...that thing/the things is/are superb.

And next to my Classic SR4

Well, I managed to change the factory strings (replaced with EB 45-130, same gauge) and optimize the setup (for my taste)...I'm digging that Special every time more, it feels and plays ridicolously well. That makes me GAS for a 4H one

Have anyone tried the Power Slinky 50-135 with the Specials? Do they fit nicely into the compensated nut?

Looking at mine (restrung the bass today), I think that a 135 gauge Low B may require a slightly larger slot...the 130 fits just perfect

The Power Slinky’s snap into the nut. I fear they may crack it. I moved on, and I found 120, 125s better for my needs.

I've contacted Ernie Ball Music Man in Instagram and popped the same question.

Here's their answer, verbatim.

We recommend that the customer takes the bass to a technician to file the nut slots for the heavier gauge string set.​

Since I just wanted to try it out to see if I like the thicker gauge, I gave up. Not worth to file the nut, regret and then have the strings floating around in the nut.

I suppose you could see if they'd sell you another nut, have someone file the one you currently have, then if you don't like it, have the person that filed it swap the replacement in.

They do sell replacement nuts. I recently bought a cutlass that had the nut filed for BEAD tuning and I asked them if they sold a nut in case the nut was filed too large for my strings.
