The more time I get to spend with my Stingray Special 5HH the more I’m really liking the 2 pickup sounds. Had an older H for about a year and never really bonded with it.

They really are great basses. I find use for every position.

I don't have any neck-dive issues. The ergos of this bass are very well thought out.

Agreed. I have the 4 string but I’m very sensitive to neck dive and bad ergonomics (hence I’ll never buy another Rickenbacker) and this bass is perfect on all counts.

As there is no place around here to take a test drive I have some questions. Is the MAP solid or is there room to deal? Also how well does the 5H balance on a strap? I am not really a Stingray guy but I am flexible - these basses really ring my chimes.

I think any retailer that has sales will honor the sales price. GC almost always has some sale going on. If you trade something in, you’ll get an automatic 10% discount

Sure anything. I traded a $42 pedal once for $20 and a $200 discount on a bass.

I usually go for every thing else before tort, but THAT tort looks really nice with the dropped copper finish .

To me, the LaBella tapes have the ideal feel and they have snap of rounds when you dig in or pop them. They have more top end than most flats and in a standard gauge they can be really loosy goosy and easy to play very fast. If you have good feel and a light touch, you can get a large variety of sounds and they sound great with a light pick as well. These Game of Death strings were a limited edition version that is no longer made and my buddy sent them to me to try because he knows I like tape wounds. For around $35 LaBella tapewound strings are as good as you can get and probably as close to TI Jazz flats at a lot lower price point.

I recently tried some tapes for the first time on my Cutlass. Am really digging the feel and sound.

That looks very nice! I've been thinking about changing the pickguard on my aqua sparkle from the stock solid black to a black pearl.
