Ebow inside guitar - bass guitar magazine back issue info

Hello,

Without any hope to find what I'm looking for, I have decided to post a very odd request here.

I live in Costa Rica And back in 2010 I went to us and stayed there for 2 months.

While heading to Mineapolis I found a bass related magazine (that is one of the main issues i can't remember if it was Bass player or what) that had a picture of a bass guitar that had an ebow inserted in the body and aligned to G string.

I'm currently building a bass guitar and I'd like to see again that picture.

Unfortunately at the airport I thoughtI would be able to buy that issue later. A few days later I could not find the issue. It was the end of June 2010.

I was wondering if there's someone here that collects magazines, that does recall that issue and that might be able to share and send me the image so Incan see how the ebow was installed in that bass guitar body.

Any clues or information will be highly aporeciated! :)

I have a Fernandez sustainer bass, not quite the same thing as an ebow, but similar in some ways. Haven't used it in a while.

It would have to be installed inverted, down into the body, with the "driver groove" centered beneath the strings. You would have to mount it to slide to adjust position, too, the best spot for it does somewhat depend on the note being fretted (haven't played with an ebow in a while, but I have an original and the more recent reissue.

The problem I foresee with the E-bow is it works best over a pickup. Mounting it inside the bass won't allow that, and you have to get the E-bow close to the string. If you play that string with your finger or pick, it will hit the E-bow because it's so close. Maybe use a spring and a lever to engage the E=bow. Turning it off moves it further away.

I know it works becaus I did see it on a magazine.

One of the main objectives of this post is to find again that issue or a picture of that article about that bass. I'd love to see again how the ebow was placed. How far the ebow was from the neck pickup.

I have an evow and I know the ebow does not necessarilly needs to be placed over the pickup in order to make the string vibrate. There's a sweet spot and it may be located a few millimeters away from the pickup.

I wish i could recall the name of the magazine so I could provide more information.

I'm pretty sure it might have been a may-june 2010 issue... Unfortunatelly I don't know if it was bass player or what.

My only hope is that someone here that collects several magazines has that issue and can send me a scan o picture of it.
