EBS Fafner vs Thunderfunk

jock said:
Has anyone played both (or EBS HD350)?
How do they compare soundwise and is one much louder into 8 ohms?

I've owned the EBSHD350, 650 and currently own the TF550. All great heads. I have not played any of these heads into an 8ohm cab, but the TF was definitely loudest of the 3 into 4 ohms (and also has the highest power rating). I found the EBS heads very hi fi.... wonderful sizzle but never could seem to warm them up. I was very unimpressed with the 650... big (three rack spaces), but relatively underpowered into 4ohms, much less 8.

The EBS350 is a 'loud' 350 watts and is great sounding, especially if you are a slapper, but the TF is a loud 500 watts! I find the TF more 'plug and play', and capable of more warmth and mid punch.
