EBS Flat Power Cables

Has anyone tried them yet? I love my flat EBS patch cables and love that these come in various lengths.

A lot of us use Cioks supplies, so these are useless to us, limiting the number of possible testers. If EBS offered Cioks-compatible cables, I'd certainly be willing to try them out.

Oh I thought they came out last year and there was no discussion yet so I figured they were new.

I'm actually selling my DC10 because i bought a Strymon. I needed more power per input. I didn't buy another Cioks because I personally hate the cables. If they put out a thicker round cable they'd be easier to organize.

True. Happy with my Cioks, but they don't have distribution in Japan and it's silly to pay international shipping just for a short cable.

IIRC Cioks power supplies are non-standard, so you can't just use 3rd party cables

On the supply end of a Cioks cable, the connector is an RCA connector.

I finally gave the EBS patch cables a try, as I've been "downsizing my boards.
For me however, I don't see the advantage of flat power cable.

I've never had issues with either type of power cables, but I do like my cioks!

There may be good reasons for it, but I'm not sure who dictates what is "preferred." It's a fact that Cioks is the oddball; I don't know of any other supplies off the top of my head that use RCA. I'm sure something is out there but Boss-style at both ends is the norm in the pedal market.

I use the flat EBS 90/90 power cables on my board. They're great so far.

I use them. It works fine, specially when you're using Darkglass small pedals bcs of the awkward placement of the power supply you can use the EBS flat power cables together with the EBS instrument cable.

yep, using the EBA flats DC cables as well - they work great. Profile is not much lower than the average, but they do come in various ways if you need to daisy chain from a single outlet, which is why they're interesting to me.

How do you find the Bighead Pro? I was considering doing the same thing, mounting it under my RockBoard DUO for practice.

I have the Eventide version of the CIOKS, so I can't speak to the EBS other than I know they charge a premium for their stuff. That said, I love my MB III ... both of them.

I have the Eventide Powermax (made by Cioks, basically the DC7) and it's a fantastic unit. I've got no issue with the RCA cable ends, and the replacement cables are readily available.

As mentioned before, you can pretty easily make you own cables if you need something longer/shorter/custom.
