In the meantime I had the 502 retired of a while. I had bought a couple of Little Marcus amps )they don't do two ohms) sight-unseen or unheard to be more exact. They were really dark sounding when set flat. I was surprised. The Millerizer knob added the treble I wanted but then the mids got dropped out, so I had to compensate for that and I still had to crank the highs to 3 o'clock and the hi mids to 2 o'clock. And that is with an active 74 Jazz bass with new roundwounds and a full range cab. So I'm selling those two ams
So I recently got the 502 back out and I figured out how to use it better. It has so much clarity that I can actually dial back the treble to 11 o'clock the Bright to 9 o'clock and boost the mids a little at around 200 hz. Voila , done.
Is sounds great and I use it as my main amp again. The manual says it has only 250 W RMS even into my two 4 ohm cabs. But that amp is loud and does not go into clipping easily. It's a keeper
