I have an EBS Fafner that decided to take a crap on me at practice last night. Are there authorized repair centers in the US?

Contact EBS, they are normally pretty good to handle issues.
The Fafner is one of the best head I've played to date (with the Aguilar DB750). Can't wait till one show up used.

Update: I turned it on the other day and viola! It works... not wait it doesn't . Sometimes it will pass signal and sometimes not. Played through it Monday and the volume spiked substantially. Played through it last night and it sounded great. A local bass player friend came over last night to show me his new Fathom (a.k.a M6 Carbine) and to listen to the Fafner. Switching the fafner back on there was no sound passing. We both concluded we like the Mesa better.
From the archived threads I've read, it seems that there was much trouble to be had with these early ones (I have a gray one). Does anyone know if the guy in Florida is still doing EBS repairs and is he the only one knowledgeable about these beasts?!

Could be a number of issues. I had one for about 18 months and took it in for repair 3 times, then dumped it. I spoke with Mott on the phone, the designer of the Fafner, and he admitted to me there was a known design flaw with the power switch, which is what had to be replaced all 3 times.
It wouldn't surprise me if that's where the problem lies, though. Good luck getting it resolved quickly.

The older grey stripe models do have some issues with the mains power switch, but from your description it sounds as if the audio might be cutting out or fading without the amp losing AC power altogether. If that is the case my guess is a cold solder joint. But if the tube backlight and LED's actually go dim or fade out as you lose the audio signal I'd agree that sounds like a power supply issue.
