But you don't own any Genz Benz so how can you be so sure they don't sound alike.
I have owned 5 Eden amps and six cabs. I now have 3 Genz Benz amps and 3 cabs. I think they sound better.
Eden was flavor of the month before David Nordschow sold it. I still think their EQ is the best in the business. I own a pre-USM WT-300 (a '96) which has never failed. My post-USM WT-800B had a power transistor blow, which I had fixed locally for a good price. My Pre-USM WT-800 never had any issues. I also have a WTX-500, which has performed nicely, so far.
I think Eden's QC issues have been sorted out for the most part, and I'd buy another one (probably a WT-550) if I were in the mood.

Always seem to have an eden amp in my arsenal. Bought another WT300. I love the 410xlt, which is still one of the best 410s available. I had problems with a WT800 and that stirred me away from buying the larger amps

My 2000 WT800 is as solid and reliable as they come.
I have no experience with the newer "made in China" amps, however.
David Nordschow has started a new company called DNA - the first line of cabs has just been released, and the amps are going through final testing - they will likely be released in the Spring of 2011.
If my WT800 were to fail - and I couldn't find another - DNA would be the first place I'd look for a new amp.

I have owned a WT550,WT1205 and still own a 410XLT and 410XST.
I have never had any problems what so ever.
The bad CS was years ago and they have long since over come the issues.
Eden stands behind all of their products ad i wouldn't think twice about buying new Eden, that was of course before the founder started a new company.
Now I'm looking forward to his new offerings.

IMO, if Eden tone is what you crave, only Eden gear will satisfy.
I presently own the following Eden gear:
WT-1205, WT-400+, 2 x D410T's, D210XST
I have also owned a WT-800A, WT-550, WT-405, Metro combo, VT-.40, D210XLT, D115T, and a D212XLT.
Other than the Metro combo (built in 1997 during the so called Golden Years) that had premature thermal shutdown issues, the rest of this gear has been rock solid.
With regards to customer service, Tim and Kevin have always been more than helpful whenever I have contacted them. Thanks to their efforts I was able to quickly get replacement cover screws and preamp board spacers for my WT-1205 (after my local tech lost them during a broken jack repair - my fault) and replacement volume pots for my WT-800A and WT-550. All parts were sent to me free of charge despite the fact that both of these amps were purchased second hand and were several years out of warranty.
Based on the great customer support I received, I recently purchased the latest Eden offering - the WTDI. If Eden quality has slipped, it doesn't show in this product. It's built as solid as any stomp box ever produced by Boss. No hum, no buzzing and not even as much as a soft clicking sound when switches are engaged or cables are plugged in. Best of all - the tone....pure Eden goodness.
I personally wouldn't hesitate for a millisecond to buy Eden if I was in the market for a new amp or cabinet.

I've had a 1997-built WT400 that, from the looks of it, has lived a hard life. I had to replace the input jack, but that's it; great sound, slots into a mix very well, and the EQ section is *fantastic.*
I wouldn't mind a little more grunt ocasionally, but you can always get a WT800, WT550, or a Navigator + power amp setup if you need that.

I have a pre-US Music Eden Metro combo and a pre-US Music XLT-115 (for sale) and a post US Music XLT-410. I now exclusively play the Metro with the XLT-410 live and absolutely love it. I've started playing more (3- 4 times a month) in the last year and I've had no problems.
On a positive note, with me playing more frequently, my back has gotten stronger too.

I have a Metro, purchased in the summer of 2002, and it's been solid ever since. It is my main "loud" amplifier, and it's nice having something that will go down to 2 Ohms. I bought a WTX-260, Eden's first micro amp, in the summer of 2007 as a rehearsal and back-up amp and that has not been as good as the Metro- it smoked out once, but I got the main board replaced under warranty. It's been ok since, but I think the Genz Benz micros are superior in every way. That said the WT-550 or 800 are great hybrid class A/B power section amps, and as mentioned the EQ is very powerful. The CS and ownership change issues, along with new manufacturing location, are problematic for me. I recently tried out a new Metro on the floor of a GC and it sounded terrible compared to mine- thinner, a bit scratchy, and noticeably quieter. It made me sad. If I were buying new I'd be quite wary and definitely want to extensively try out the actual unit I would be purchasing, but used older WT stuff is probably great and is relatively cheap, too.

???? I thought GC stopped carrying new Eden gear a LONG time ago.
They (and MF) dropped Eden listings for a bit earlier this year, but started listing them again several months ago.
I know that MF dropped Eden temporarily for a few months, but I haven't seen Eden gear on GC's website (including right now) for years.

I bought a WT-400, D410T and D115T new in '97 and have had no desire to change ever since. Smooth tone, sits well in the mix and tons of compliments on tone. I don't know about customer service because I've never had to call them!
Through much of the 90s I ran Eden cabs and liked them... D210XLT for small gigs, a 410XLT for bigger gigs, then I went to a pair of 410XLT for outdoor shows and loved it.
I never liked their amps though. Left Ampeg for Eden. Had a WT800 and didn't like it. I found the eq to be pretty much unusable for me. The only sound I liked was with the eq pretty much flat. I went back to Ampeg. That's just me though.
