Eden Customer Service...AGAIN

I've had Eden horror stories. And with their top of the line equipment. It was the music store I purchased the gear from that came to my rescue. If they hadn't, I'd probably still be dealing with them.

Lots of companies make really great sounding gear. Now factor in the companies that really stand behind their gear and care for the customer and the list just got a lot shorter.

Those are the companies that I buy from.

??? You must be thinking of the WT300. The 300T is their all-tube amp, which is a brand new product for them, and which is just a rebranded item made by some generic manufacturer and then labeled for three or four different amp brands.
Eden's been selling rebranded Koch tube amps for years. The earliest reference I can find on this site is from 2002 and the guy claims the amp is 2 years old at that point. That thread has reports of reliability issue, too.

I'm SO glad I'm using Genz Benz stuff now. It not only sounds great, but when I've contacted them, I've gotten immediate replies and more than satisfactory answers, and even some swag....

I can't for the life of me understand why some companies don't get the fact that customer service matters.

Damn, I've been following a bunch of posts about that Eden amp lately and was actually considering going for one, but now NO WAY! :rollno:

Sorry to hear that you are being put through the ringers from Eden. Enjoy your Genz-Benz and thanks for sharing your info/experience!

I got the E 300 T back yesterday. It appears to be working fine, and sounds good, but I'll never buy another Eden product after that. Over 7 weeks for a simple repair, numerous "untruths" just to get me off the phone.

Hi.

Glad to hear that You got your amp back.

It's a decent design, even great considering the current street price, but the lack of CS is inexcusable.

I had similar problems with my Fame, the Music Store CS was plain BS. And all I wanted to know was the millivolt reading in the test points vs. the bias milliamperes.

Thank goodness I'm capable and willing to work on cheapos, even if that means voiding the warranty.

Cheezewiz, in the future, if You're not willing to use the Eden repair channels, a Fame (/Ashton) pre amp schematic and a parts list can be found here:

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=487568

A power amp schematic may follow some day ;).

There's also a slight chance that You'll get the schematics from Eden, I know for a fact that is has happened at least once with this particular head.

Regards
Sam

Well said. I've made no secret of the fact that I love my little pre-USM Corp WT-400. It had a couple of minor issues, but I was able to repair those myself. (I had to replace and revamp all the fan mounting screws because a couple were stripped out by the factory during the build...allowing the fan to rattle. The on/off switch went south...replaced it with a new one.) Having said this, I made a decision several years ago that this piece of Eden would be my last. Whether it be CS issues or manufacturing issues that make CS necessary, I just don't feel lucky enough to roll the dice again. Sad, but that's the way it has to be (for me). :(
