EDEN D210XLT variations

Hi guys,

just noticed that my XLT has a badge with only Eden written on it.

Recently I saw another D210XLT with a badge displaying David Eden (full name).

Would anyone know the difference between the two (one must be an older model?!??), cheers.

Doug

My guess is the badge displaying David Eden are the older cabs. If you find images and check the jack plates, I believe the older cabs will have 1/4" jacks and 5-way binding posts (banana). Modern cabs will have 1/4" and speakON.

Also David Eden is not the full name. David Nordshow was the founder of Eden. The D-series was originally known as the David series. I believe this may have been a play on words as the competed with SWRs Goliath series.

Here's an old D210XLT jackplate to support what I have written:

Here is the front of that cab

Notice the jack plate says "The David series by Eden Electronics," and the front panel badge says
"Dave by Eden."

Thanks all, would anyone know if the quality of older versions of 210 XLT and XST is as good as the newer versions (tone wise and built quality), and also what is the quality of the brand new ones that are available in shops these days?!

The Eden Eminence special design speaker still gives many new drivers a run for the money.
I have no idea what is in the newer cabinets
But the classic early Eminence Special design driver is the one to have.
Older the better as they say.
Unfortunately the Eden Forum doesn't exist anymore. Would be better question there. For many more experts on the subject.

Other companies like Fender, Ampeg etc etc eventually release newer products with recreations or similar logos with a vintage look. I'm not exactly sure but it seems there may be newer cabinets with the older looking Eden badges. Of course newer style handles or neutrik Jack's might be a give away for being newer rather than vintage

Yes there was a change but I’ve not tried both just the older one which I liked a lot.

when I ordered my GK cabs one came from shop stock and one had to be ordered in, same story the badges are different. One has the Gallien Krueger badge and the other has GK and Neo badging, they sound the same though.
