Hey everyone, first time poster here
I hope someone more knowledgeable and wise than me can help me with a suggestion.
Long story short: I have a GK MB210 combo first series MB 210 Specs ā Gallien-Krueger, and I'd like to buy a new cabinet to link through the external connector. In this way, I should be able to use the full 500 Watts @ 4 Ohm of the amplifier.
Since I love the sound of my combo, after lots of thought I decided to get another 2x10 cab.
I first tried to find another GK NEO 2x10 cabinet, but with no success: the product line is discontinued, and it also seems that there are no more official GK distributor left in Europe to buy a new NEO IV cab.
I live in Italy, GK products are not very popular here, so few options in the second hand market too.
I feel like I'm left with two options:
1. Buy a 2x10 CX cab CX Cabinets ā Gallien-Krueger (some shops still have some). As far as I understood, the only difference with the NEO cabinets are the ceramic drivers. How different do they sound with respect to neodymium drivers?
2. Buy a 2x10 cab with neodymium drivers, but of a different brand. I've found some nice prices for the Eden Ex210 EX210 - Eden Amps, but I have never had the chance to play one so I really don't know how they sound. Are they similar to GK products, or drivers' material do not have such a huge influence in sound?
Thanks everybody in advance for the help!
