I imagine some will question my sanity (with all the excitement about EA) :hiding: for buying one of these, but it seems like a nice amp.

I bought a salesman's sample on layaway and figure I won't get hurt on resale. It sounds great on the slab and when set flat seems to be transparent enough to use with DB. Running it into my Eminence Deltalite 12 cab it easily put out twice the volume of the GK combo in a direct comparison. The EQ section is also very versatile.

Anybody try one?

I just bought one myself ($710 CAD). Unfortunately, I still don't have a cabinet to hook it up to. But from what I can gather via my headphones, this baby produces that authentic Eden sound.

Anyway, I will post something here once I get a cabinet.

I'll get mine out of layaway later in the week. Yes, I expect it to have some coloration, but with the versatile EQ I think it will work well with DB. A couple of guys around town use Eden for jazz work and sound good. One guy uses Eden with Hartke 210's and probably gigs more than anybody.
It's interesting to read all the opinions on amps. Markbass heads need some bass rolloff, the Wizzy 10 has a midrange bump, AI sounds great with DB but not so great with slab. Heck, NHOP used a big Fender tube amp with a magnetic pickup!!
I tried the 260 out through my 12" cab with the slab and it sounded great.In the end, I bought a small head that won't break and should sound better at higher volumes on DB than my GK combo.

Once EA gets the Micro bugs worked out, I may look in that direction. The LMII looks good, but it is a heavier package and I don't need the extra power.

Although gear is important, it is only a collection of tools to help make music. I don't want to take it too seriously. :D

I picked up the head on Tuesday and am digging the 260. Through my little fdeck delta 12 cab the tone is clean and clear on slabs and DB. It is just a bit agressive but for DB, backing off the highs and mids just a bit sounds good. I say just a bit because a very slight adjustment changes the tone more than any amp I've come across. When set flat, the tone is more detailed than warm and mellow. Also, for a small package the EQ is flexible and permits a wide range of tones with minimal effort.
The aux inputs will accept an active bass, leaving the main input for DB when doubling. This was an interesting experiment with a Jazz Bass equipped with an Audere pre. It showed that the Eden pre is much more neutral than I expected.

Regarding the comments about clipping: I can't get it to stress. Through the little cabinet it sounds at least twice as loud as the GK MB150 (and much better). For the type of gigs I do, I'm sure it will be fine.

I sold the Eden several months ago because I tried an Acoustic Image head and thought it sounded much better for DB. Although the Eden is a nice, well made piece of gear, I don't think it the best choice for a natural, transparent tone. Some people may really love it, but that's my opinion.
