Double Bass Edgar Meyer Cello Suites Tuning

Does Edgar Meyer use a different tuning than standard orchestral tuning in his recording of Bach's cello suites? at certain spots it sounds like he is playing open strings, but they are not E A D or G. so maybe someone knows?

He is in solo tuning instead of EADG he is EBEA. The E is left E because he preffers this sound.
