Edwards (Japan) Basses are no Flippin Joke!

I now own 2 Edwards brand basses. I've had the red one for a while and recently acquired the (daphne?) blue one.

I've got to tell ya, these things are no joke! Build quality is just sick. Solid as hell, fret work is perfection, just amazing attention to detail.

I believe that Edwards is ESP's domestic (Japan) high-end brand. I had to import both of these. Glad I did! BTW, you can typically find these for under a grand if you look! Hell of a deal for the quality!

Edwards is actually more like the mid-tier brand. ESP Japan being the highest, with Grass Roots being the lower. But, as you said, the Edwards are no joke. In many cases they sport the same hardware or pickups that the ESP Japan models have. The main difference is that they are not hand-worked the way the high end ones are.

Enjoy your basses, they look great!

Edwards is made in China with final setup and inspection taking place in Japan.

They are quite nice. I have owned an Edwards and a Grassroots bass. Very good for the money
This is good to know. When did that happen. My brother has a fantastic Edwards Les Paul. I'm pretty sure it's. MIJ, but it's also over 10 years old.

That I am not sure. I learned this from a post that is from 2010 that I have seen referenced in other places as well - ギターメーカーのEDWARDSの製造国は中国だけですか?例えばアーティストモデルなどの金額の高いギターなどは製造国は日... - Yahoo!知恵袋

pardon the fact that it is in not in English

Man, that red one screams 1982, and the blue one screams 1975, in all the best ways!!!!

Not all of them are made in China, unless something changed in the past couple of years. They have different levels of basses and guitars with different factories, like most companies.
