effect of underpowering a cab?

If you hook up a battery the cone moves out and stops.
The spider and suspension is pulling back so work is being done.
Old voltage meters were the same idea. But true, there are no square waves just in bass frequencies, so this could never happen with a signal.

A battery is 0 Hz, so it's below resonance. ;) The constant voltage causes constant current flow that provides a constant accelerative force. Up until the force pulling back equals that force. But that force still doesn't go away, and so above resonance the flat top of a waveform makes the cone move, not stop.
 
Let's take "A". frequencies there are; 110, 220, 440, 880, 1760. How does that translate to 50, 100, 150, 200, 250?

The harmonics of a 110 Hz A are 110, 220, 330, 440, 550, 660, 770, 880, etc. You have harmonics confused with octaves.
 
Those are the even-order harmonics, correct? Odd-order being the product of anything not true to the original source?

A very cool thing about the human ear/brain is, when presented with a tone comprised of 300, 400, and 500hz, it hears it as a 100hz tone, even though the first two tones of the series (100 and 200hz) are absent.
