Effects and playing the new Pop Music

Back to playing full time and of course focusing on our usual variety format which includes tons of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kesha, Prince, Jesse, Rhianna, Beyonce....I think you are getting the picture.

Looking for effects suggestions to cover some of this stuff. Thought maybe a basic Boss Synth and a Boss Distortion pedals would do it.

How have some of you fellow corporate/dance band thumpers approached this?

Are you going through the trouble of going stereo when playing with distortion?

Dont know if this should be in effects or not, but I've had great luck with the Zoom B3 pedal. It has amp modeling, eq settings and stomp box modeling for every patch so that you can just scroll through to different setting for your set. Also, every effect and patch is blendable so you can maintain low end when using it.

If you don't know exactly what you're looking for, I'd recommend a multi effects unit like that for economic use of floor space.

I've never found a multi-effect unit that I was happy with.... They always destroyed my tone when bypassed and we're a pain in the a$$ to get dialed in, impossible to tweak on the fly.

For synth sounds, they'll have to pry my Deep Impact from my cold dead hands. The Boss unit is ridiculously awful, but I've heard good thinks about the Markbass synth pedal...
