[Effects] MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe Problem

Hi!
I had read lots of threads with tracking problem with the M288 or other octave pedals. Mine was working flawlessly but one month ago, live, it stopped tracking notes. At all.
The pedal is on, led is on, the knobs works but modifies the medium, treble and bass frequencies (in that order) but no track at all, neither in the lower, middle nor in the upper register! It the same with batteries or ac adapter.
What could it be?

If no solution at all is found, I'll use it as a preamp because it boosts and modifies the frequencies, pretty nicely. But I'd like to understand what happened.

Dunlop does excellent diagnostic/repair shop work. I had a pot shaft problem with my M87 Bass Compressor a couple years ago. Their base pedal repair fee was $75, which included return shipping to me. They ended up replacing the whole circuit board at no extra charge, so I had a like-new pedal, including a replacement MXR packaging box for shipping.

They may have gone up on that fee, but you should still look into it. Email them at [email protected] and inquire. They will send you a return authorization number and the address to mail the pedal to.

Thanks for your answer, this morning I wrote on the JD website and they are processing the info. In fact, I only wanted their diagnostic because I bought the pedal used on ebay 1 1/2 year ago and on top of that, I live in Costa Rica, so I don't think I will send it back...

Soltao - If you didn't spend much on the octave pedal in the first place, it isn't worth paying for the total amount of shipping from where you live to Dunlop and the repair fee. Unless you like using it as a preamp, throw the pedal out and be on the hunt for a replacement. The MXR Octave Deluxe is a fine octave pedal. I have one myself.
