effects trouble's!

hi guys,i am currently using modulus flea bass into an ampegSVT4 pro, sounds great, i recently got a pedalpad effects board and plugged all my pedals in this order --- boss bass synth---digitech whammy----boss octave pedal---boss overdrive----boss bass chorus----boss DD3 delay...

my problem is i have lost quite a bit of bass tone and losing some of that ampeg growl. I want to put some off my effcts through the amplifiers effect loop, which will take some of the strain out of my loss of tone.This can be assingned from my pedalpad effects board i am just unsure of what effects will be best going throught the effects loop and what is the advantages and dissadvatages of using the effects loop? any suggestions or releted issues would be great :)

Sounds like you're suffering from to many buffers in your signal chain from the Boss pedals, what you are best doing is buying a tb loop pedal such as this

The effects loop on your amp is designed for line level effects such as rakc mount compressors etc it will not be good or suitable for the pedals you have.

Like I saw something like I mentioned above would fix your problem.

in the manual is shows a diagram to run effects through your bass to amp but also assign some mono pedals staright to the amp's effect loop.

my only concern is that the modulus sounds great straight into the amp, it also loses hardly no tone going through a couple of pedals but 6 seems to be the limit! lol

would you not recomend maybe using the amplifiers effect loop for a couple of pedals just so i am not sacrificing my tone?

If I were you, I would put the chorus and delay in your amp's effects loop and leave the rest out front. IMO, you should at least give it a shot before shelling out $$$ for another possible solution. Good luck.

i did want to try and run some in the amps effect loop, i think i have overspent on my whole rig! eek what i am unsure of is there any advantages of runing through your amps effects loop etc? i do use all the effects and just looking for some possible solutions as in the future i might add more effects but the thought of losing my tone is too much! Just i had never encoutered this problem before, atm my svt4-pro is putting out a nice bit of ass end but i do find even with the six pedals the amount of diference is too noticable. wouldnt it be great if life was so much easier :) cheers any more suggestions or threads about this topic would be great :P

Tayste was right. Most effects loops run at LINE level, which is MUCH higher than instrument level. This means that the extremely high output of your effects loop send is going to cause all of your pedals to clip and distort in a bad way.

It will sound like crap.

If you are having bypass tone suck, then buy a bypass loop or sell the pedals that suck your tone and by ones with true bypass or a better buffered bypass.
