So cool - an Egmond on Reverb. It's funny being called Bass 9 (from outer space?) when it's basically a Typhoon. Love the textured vinyl! Italians did their own version in the '60s using molded accordion pearl plastic.
The Egmond Bass 9 is a rare bass guitar produced by Egmond, a Dutch company known for making affordable instruments during the 1950s and 1960s. The Bass 9 was part of Egmond’s line of electric basses and was often sold under the "Rosetti" brand name in the UK. The design of the Bass 9 was distinctive, featuring vinyl-covered bodies and colourful, retro aesthetics, such as mother-of-pearl style scratchplates and headstocks. It had a bolt-on maple neck with a 24-fret fingerboard, Van Ghent tuners, and two chrome pickups with tone and volume controls. The Bass 9 gained a reputation for its "thumpy" sound. Egmond instruments like the Bass 9 were used by musicians such as Paul McCartney during his early years.
Maybe that's where Sir Paul got the idea for "I Am the Walrus"... coo coo ca-choo!
