I'm going to have to crack my BMS open after work and see if this is something I want to do myself. I have very limited experience soldering, and with electronics in general - From a car I built years ago, but even then I had someone walk me through it.

This looks relatively easy though, and the thought of a suck-free BMS with expression-pedal-control sounds great! Worst case scenario I can think of (within reason) would be getting stuck halfway, and sending it off to someone. Thanks to all who contributed directions and pictures!

It's really interesting that there is a TBP already inside the newer models, but not wired.

Bumping this up to see if I could get some real detailed instructions/photos, seeing as how I'm electronically stupid

My wires aren't necessarily all the same colors as some of the posts in here, so if I could just get some like, before and after shots of the mod, I think I could figure it out, rather than relying on descriptions.

I recently got one of the new models. They removed the completely redundant on/off switch and the LED now indicates effect status (which is the same as power status now). The whole pedal is, however, not as TB as the EHX website wants you to believe. I have some experience soldering and I really want to perform surgery to make my new BMS TB, but I have no clue how. Are the new models the same as the old ones on the inside and can I follow the guides proposed here?

Essentially, yes, but obviously the PCB is different. The fundamental process remains exactly the same for every pedal ever made... ever... anywhere!

Find the input jack wire, find the output jack wire, find the input to the circuit board, find the output to the circuit board, follow the many, many TB schematics available and go for it.

well the XO version comes true bypass standard from the factory so I don't know why you would want to mod it for tbp!

Hey I'm trying to fix a microsynth that was disassembled. I'm pretty sure I have all the original connections figured out except for one. Can someone tell me where the brown wire goes on the circuit board ie: which solder pad? It goes from the top lug of the footswitch (i have the version with a dpdt switch with only one pole used)

I cannot see anywhere where it was connected. A few detailed pictures or info or just a description of which solder pad the brown wire goes to would be greatly appreciated!

Zombie thread revival, but I have an old v2 Microsynth (not the bass microsynth) with the hard-wired power supply and I'd like to do the LED mod. But the layout is a little different, so I'm not sure what to rewire where.
It's got a DPDT switch. Anyone done it to that pedal (and anyone know the mod to make it more bass friendly? I found one online but again for a different version).
