EHX Bass MicroSynth Distortion.

Does any one know of a dirt pedal that sounds similar to the squarewave distortion on the MicroSynth? I want to replace mine with a separate distortion and octave pedals (or a combination of both), since I don't use the envelope filter of the synth pedal, and I want an octave that'll track polyphonically. I love the harshness of the Synth pedal's distortion and would want something similar (sometimes I want my bass to sound like a guitar distorted, so my Big Muff isn't enough).

Square wave distortion in BMS is like this:

input -> preamp(gain, variable between 1 to 20) -> low pass filter (third order, fixed 700 Hz) -> gain boost (fixed, 10) -> OTA

OTA does two things, it's input differential pair provide distortion (there is somewhere on the net DIY pedal project called "Differential distortion" that can do the same thing) and it imposes envelope of input signal (extracted in separate path in BMS) on distorted square wave, so square wave retains most of dynamics of input signal (squre wave has same envelope as input signal, unlike "normal" distortions where dynamics are flattened).

Doing differential pair distortion is easy, and "emulatable" by lot of pedals, input filter is a bit trickier, but I guess that square wave amplitude modulation by envelope will be quite trickie (you will need to get someone to do custom pedal for you).

Count me in for other people's opinions on this one. My band just tracked 5 songs, and I used the studio's Micro Synth for some gnarly square wave tones. I want to achieve that sounds but I don't really want to use the other features of the pedal and it will take up valuable real estate on my pedalboard.

Right now I have a Little Big Muff that is just not cutting it at all. I figured another fuzz would do the trick maybe?
