Ehx pedals with tubes

Alot of people really liked the English Muff'n on bass - I really liked it (bought two of 'em) but could never really get it to work in a band mix. I also had the Hot Tubes which again had some great tones but couldnt get it to follow though in a band setting. My drummer has the wiggler (i think, the valve trem/vibrato) and that sounds really nice. I really wanted to try the Tube Zipper too.

I think if it wasnt for the size, awkward power supply (24v) and dubious power socket (seems pretty weak and easily breakable) i'd probably try the Muff'n again.

I have a Muff'n and I love its tone. More the way that it takes other distortions signals and removes the harshness from them before passing it to the amp. I use it as a preamp.

It can be a little noisy, and it is a PITA to power and find a place for on your board. It's been on my board for 3 years and I would like to kick it off, but can't.

I tried the 2ube Mic Pre with one channel running into the other and it sounded great. It could go from clean to over the top all the time sounding warm and natural. I didn't buy it though because of the odd form, power requirements, etc.
