I understand the technical criticism of AG. I'm buying not based on any specs but on what people have said about the sound and tone. I've read every review and I read all the criticism and I must say that I wish AG would have taken a more conservative approach with things. The switch has got to be one of the biggest jokes in speaker history. I wander how many players bought one because of the "switch". The x-over setup will probably work fine for a bass speaker but not a studio monitor. I think that this is probably one of the things that separates AG from Acme. Acme follows all the rules and makes a speaker that can work in either application. Their 110 model makes a great monitor or bass speaker. But, you pay the price in efficiency, that kind of tuning eats up a lot of power. I'm looking for an improved version of what I've got. An SWR Triad. The Triad has never been promoted very heavily by SWR. It just doesn't have that SWR sound. It really doesn't have any sound of its own. It pretty much puts out whatever you put in from low B to whatever. So why have I put out big bucks on a speaker that may not be any better than what I have? GAS
