Electra/Westone club

Hey Guys
Just wondering if anything is going on out in Electra / Westone land.the Hamsterman was just around yesterday on the Epiphone Club thread. By the way the Epiphone Club num bers have been updated for those of you who may be interested.

Hey Guys
Just wondering if anything is going on out in Electra / Westone land.

My group has a small gig lined up for this month, it'll be my first gig in many years. Some of the tunes require drop tuning so I am bringing my Ric with standard tuning and think I will use this as an excuse to bring my Westone Spectrum tuned to DGCF. Hopefully I can cough up some gig pics or maybe a vid. My old bass has waited patiently for a long time to finally get to sing to people again, I can't wait!

Spectrum,
I do know what it feels like to get back into gigging after a few years off, the best feeling in the world. Just relax and enjoy.it would be great to see some pics of you and your spectrum at a gig. I hope you have a blast.

The Hamsterman,
Not really keeping track of you, just handing out numbers in these two threads.some one was looking for a tracing of your pick guard , just trying to let him know that you are around and he should PM. you. Got your number over on the Epi Club.

Just ran across a pic of me and my Westone Thunder 1 at a gig, about a month or 2 ago.

Any ideas about what to replace the neck humbucker on a Spectrum GT with? Picked up the bass hoping there was a wiring issue, but it appears the pickup is dead. Would like to keep the original look.

Ouch! I dread the day when that happens.

I've had the pickup cover off of mine and IIRC it was glued to the back of the body, so I never really got a chance to measure it up. Keep us posted if you find something that fits under that cover. I imagine it will hard to find one that lines up with the holes for the pole pieces.

Has Chris Squire joined this club, yet?

Wow, I didn't know Squire has an Electra bass! Thanks for that trivia.

From in interview with his tech on Chris's website:

What guitars has Chris brought with him?

We’re using the original 1964 Rickenbacker, a new Rickenbacker (the Fish Out Of Water bass) which is used on Machine Messiah, then an MPC Electra, which is used on Tempus Fugit and Owner, then a Lakland, which is a Fender Jazz type bass, which is used on Astral Traveler.

He used it on Drama, and when I saw The Syn in 2005 he played it extensively on their material. I have a bunch of good close up photos I made from the edge of the small stage in the club that used to be a Ukrainian union hall, or some such; many time Chris was only about 3' or so in front of me. :bassist: Very nice to hear his bass tone as it came out of his Ampeg cabinet 10' back on stage. :bassist:

Fairly new on the bass, just acquired a Westone Spectrum LX 1985, original case but not the extra fretless neck. Good forum this one.

Welcome to the world of bass. Sounds like you picked a great Westone Bass to start with. I almost snagged one of those a few years back. Let me know if you want to join the club and I'll give you a number.

mcbrat or spectrum,
I was just hoping that one of you guys would like to take over handing out numbers and the club as I will not be around TB nearly as much as I have been. I will still be around but I think this club needs someone who has the time to keep it growing. I will be taking a new job soon and still trying to gig and practice, odd shifts etc. and I'm also looking at being in 2 bands and a little recording in the near future so not much computer time.

I plan on remaining active here, but numbers aren't that important to me. I got dragooned into running the VM Jaguar club somehow, so because I am too lazy I just declared it to be a "numberless" club and neglect my duties horribly. So I am perhaps not the best choice for running a club.

Thanks for that, maybe someone else will take the helm. I am finaly hopefuly going back to work in 2 weeks .It has been awhile. That will take most of my time then my band and i have promised to do some recording with a few local groups so just too busy for the computer for awhile.I will stop in and say Hi .Realy liked the posters on this thread and their basses. See you guys around. Spectrum , I only asked because I know you love Westones too.:D
