A pair of Westone Quantums... the black one had been totally gutted, and the orange one had an old refinish on it that had been sanded down to bare wood...

This is my Thunder 1 bass:

Only had it about two weeks but impressed so far. The frets needed levelling but otherwise they all is ok! I like the vintage P-bass tone of this bass. I've seen some Thunders with straight wood grain that looks a little dull, so I'm quite pleased mine has a more interesting grain.

I'm thinking of re-necking my Thunder with a neck off a P copy I keep at home. Its a nice neck, and will probably fit with a bit of work.

I cannot get the neck straight enough on the Thunder 1 for my tastes. I have to have the action quite high and I get that "gub gub gub" sort of string slap sound. I tried some lightly used roundwounds on it and it was a mess of buzzing and that same string spank sound.

I was givin an Outlaw X620 as an early christmas gift!
Pretty sweet gift without a doubt.
It's in fairly good shape, needs strings and the electronics need a good cleaning.
What length strings do others use on this bass?
It needs a longer string as the normal length leaves silk wrap on the nut.

JHandly will be number 21 and gigslut will be number 22 . Welcome to the club and you both have very nice basses. I am sorry I didnt get back to you faster but Im not on TB much anymore. I am back giging every weekend again. We will be happy to have you in the club and enjoy those basses.
