Electric Amplification

Has anyone had experience with Electric amps before? Are they just some crackpots making stuff and selling it high under the banner of "handmade in the USA"? Or are they some kind of rare gem? Plus, they claim that their units work just fine for bass and guitar. What's up with that?

What will they think of next. It sounds like the work of the devil.
I will stick with my clockwork SVT.

It's esentially the U.S. Branch on Matamp. I'm not 100% sure on the history, but I think they were originally the U.S. distributor, but when Matamp decided to start making only smaller amps, Electric amp acquired the rights to make the old style, more powerful amps. Not 100% sure on that, if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me

Yeah that's not exactly right, they were the USA distributor for Matamp they then started building them for the US market as obviously this is cheaper than building it in the UK with UK prices and shipping it to America. Not sure of the specifics of what happened but essentially Electric Amp stole the designs from Matamp and started making them, themselves due to a loop hole in the law and not paying Matamp anything.

I've heard of a lot of problems with Electric Amps I think the designed are outdated and the people putting them together don't have a true understanding of what they are doing.

I'm sure there are 2 sides to this story but for me Electric Amplification wasn't started over 60 years ago, creating Orange amps and then the whole Red and Green and whatever other colour you wanted it branded.

+1 on all of that, not a fan of what electric amps did!
