electro harmoonix tattoo?

I see you have excellent taste (i.e. quoting Bill Hicks in your sig), so when decisions like this come up, i'd advise asking 'WWBD'? i.e. What Would Bill Do ? :)

I doubt Bill would have chosen to get a corporate logo tattooed on him

ok, Electro Harmonix ain't McDonalds or Microsoft or Enron, but it's still a company logo

I have a number of tattoos. Every time I get one, I try my best to follow a number of rules for very specific reasons:

1) No words - letters and/or words get jumbled or confused and a misspelling can't just be erased, so anything with words won't work.
2) No logos - a company, band, or other symbol can change their name or logo on the drop of a dime, making a logo/symbol tattoo obsolete.
3) No pictures or people - a photograph never captures a person's likeness very well, so a hand-drawn image on a canvas which will get fat and skinny, then fat again will veer away from being a good likeness very quickly.
4) No stencils - something you can pull off of the internet or out of a book or off of a picture and be duplicated and your art isn't one-of-a-kind.

I'd think about the tattoos you get. I love all of mine because I've thought them through and sat on the ideas for months before getting any of them. It seems to me that you just thought about getting a tattoo and the idea has intrigued you, and you want one and don't care what the tattoo depicts.

You are going to hear your friends and family talk about how tattoos are bad, but that's incorrect. BAD tattoos are bad. Good tattoos are tattoos a person can display for a lifetime and never be ashamed of having.

Think about it before finalize on your headstone.

I can't wait to get some tattoos but I've already got some kinda rules set out for myself.

Only ones that I've designed myself or have been designed by someone I know well.

Only ones that mean a lot to me and that I've planned for long enough to know I'm not going to get sick of it.

That being said, I reckon a logo of a music company you respect would be pretty cool.

I find some of this advice... dubious. be careful who you get your tattoos from, but also be careful who you get tattoo advice from. If they have a tribal tattoo, they are not allowed to give others tattoo advice. They know this, they signed a 'poor taste' clause when they got the armband.:ninja:

In regards to company logos, it's hit and miss. While the golden arches are obviously not cool, lots of logos are. I have the old Thrush/Claysmith Cams Woody Woodpecker under my arm, and I think it is a fairly cool tattoo, probably one of my favorites. So yeah, if it's something that you're way into... go for it dude.

Very nice...I'll have to use this next time the aholes at work talk about tats for the millionth time...

My opinion, get what you want. But you sound like you don't know what that is yet (you said ehx or moog tattoo), so I would definitely sit on the idea for a while until you are sure.
