I have a lo-tech method for recording bass tracks to send to people: I take the direct out of a GK MB200 and go into the direct input of a little Zoom digital recorder.
It works great.
For a project I have this week, I need a gnarlier midrange sound than what the rather scooped, polite MB200 offers. My Elf has that quality. But (as others have noted), you can easily hear the Elf fan turning on and off when it's sitting next to you and you're playing through it. (Not at gigs, though.)
My question:
Will the fan noise make it onto "tape"? My guess is no, only the electrical signal (bass pickup out of headphone jack and into Zoom direct input) will make it... not the mechanical sound of the fan.
Am I right?
