Double Bass Emanuel Wilfer bass

I commissioned a 7/8 violin shape double bass ( best quality) to be made for my son from Roland Wilfer of Emanuel Wilfer . Does anyone have any experiences with contemporary Wilfer basses? Eagerly awaiting completion.

I've got one I bought a couple years ago through Lemur. After some break-in, the bass is just what I was looking for. Delivery was free of any incident and the build is decent. Lemur did a phenomenal job with set-up.

lol! thanks you! I am very lucky I have 2 great kids. Excelling with academics and with their instruments ( just doing my part! ) Thought this would be a very special project for him, just keeping fingers crossed that it will be a good match!

I'm the one who did the post on talkbass and I do not know the man of the video, but now we are in contact.

We are 5 people from different parts of the world with the same problem with Wilfer and we are talking about this situation.

I really don’t want to come off as a cynic so please hear me out.
I have rarely if ever seen any craftsman/contractor do anything on schedule ..... car , house , boat , electric bass , double bass , dentist , painter ..... anyone!
It’s like they get “writers cramp” or loose interest mid project.
I have resolved my dealing with this phenomena by only purchasing completed projects whenever possible.
I have seen these basses and they are good basses.
I just hope you don’t run into “writers cramp” with this project.

Nobody says that the Wilfer basses are bad, but neither will they last 3 years to deliver it, worse, more than a year with 0 communication from the Luthier ...

The problem here is that he has been saying for a long time that he would send The bass in "two weeks" but he does not even say anything more than a year ago ...

Sad and unfortunate and yes I have suffered the same with at least 5-6 bass builders.

Is there anybody that paid Wilfer in advance in the past 2 years and had a trouble free transaction? ... or has anybody spoken to him recently? I am getting very impatient with the delay, lack of communication, and limited conflicting information from him.
