Double Bass Emanuel Wilfer bass

I bought mine through Lemur music 11 years ago. It is a finely crafted bass built with lovely woods. It sounds terrific. The one I have was marketed by Lemur as a "Gentleman's Jazz" model. It is a violin shape 7/8 with 42" string length.

I hope your bass is completed and in your hands soon. It is worth the wait IMO.

I saw yesterday on FB that Wilfer is now insolvent/bankrupt. Does anyone else know more? I hope there aren't many folks still waiting for their basses...

Oh boy, so many bad things to read about what once seemed to be a decent luthier.
Is there any more information about this bankruptcy? Actually I spoke to Roland Wilfer yesterday and was concidering to get an UB built for me. Not so sure anymore ... (And yes, I also read the long thread about that guy from Costa Rica. Not so sure what to think about that, though, since there are some contradictions to find there.)

He never delivered some Instruments nor paid several suppliers and collaborators. In the meantime he has opened a new company but leaving a lot of debts in Germany. Be careful,His specialty is disappearing, even though he has no money problems
