They slow my computer down if I'm not browsing on a very fast machine.

Is there any change I can make to my account so that for my account they're hidden/disabled?

I'm afraid it's not going to be practical without custom programming to accomplish what you desire.

Here's better news: I'm looking into putting in the custom fix that @Testing123 found It only loads videos when you actually click on the video.

I made a small change (not the fix that we found, but a change in the YouTube code). By any chance is it better now? If not I'll use plan A
