I've got this pre, I was told is an emg btc and a google image search says it is as well but I have no idea what the pin out is and couldn't find a diagram/schematic.

I asked my little buddy Peair this morning and he just stared at me...

So there's this little five pin connector which looks original to the pre, it has red/green/black/black/white wires and is what I'm referencing, ie what do the wires/pins represent in terms of +9v input output ect...?

This has got me thinking...This is an EMG PUP quick connect cable that I removed the cover from to find the hot and ground soldered together. Does anyone know whats up with that?...

Since you've got this question running in 2 threads, I'll post this here as well:

Current EMG pickups have 3 wires inside 2 connectors: white for signal + black for ground in one connector, red for power in a red connector. Older EMG pickups have a red power wire and a shielded white signal wire where the shield is the ground wire and gets soldered to the back of a volume pot.

On page 3 of this PDF you will see a diagram of how to wire a current BTS system with 2 volumes Invalid Link Removed

Here's a diagram for the old style soldered pickups with 2 volumes and BTC for reference: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Try this diagram instead: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

That will show you how to connect the two pickups to the two volume pots, but instead of wiring the two wires to the output to the jack, they go to the corresponding pins of the BTS.

That said it would be much easier and cleaner if you just got new cables for your JVX pickups from EMG (your EMG distributor may even have them in stock) along with EMG pots and then literally plug & play.

Thanks again testing1two. I finally figured it out...For the BTC to work I had to run the PUP's in Series. I was at the stage where the 'Hammer' was a good option for that damn BTC. BUt finally it's up and going, ready to hit those Australian venue's. Here is a pic of the finished set b4 closing her up...
