EMG JAX install

I've ordered a set of EMG JAX pups with VT VT for each pickup that I'm going to install in a Squier Deluxe Active 4. I was thinking about adding a football input jack plate to use the input jack that comes with the set instead of cutting and soldering to the existing. This will depend on if the quick connect wires are long enough of course. Thoughts, suggestions or has anyone done this before? Thanks in advance.

If you decide to add an input jack (to use existing holes for v and t pots ) forget the football jack and use an electro socket . Much better.

Thanks WOODMAN. The active deluxe already has the input drilled on the side so I'd just have to add the football jack plate to hold the included jack.

Received the pickups last night and I'm thinking about going old school VVT and using an old jazz control plate I have since the holes line up. The input would then be located on the front of the bass like a "normal" jazz bass.

So got the PUPs installed and they sound great. Decided to just use the original jack and solder the connection. Waiting on another quick connect cable so I can get the second tone working. Here's the finished product.

Thanks TN! I'm thinking about replacing the dots with block inlay decals if I can find some that match the pick guard. These EMGs are great!!! Can't wait until I can hookup the second tone pot and see how that expands the sound.

So this bass is finally complete!! I received the additional quick connect I ordered to configure VT VT and after some help I was able to get it to work the way I had hoped. The tone is outstanding and it will see it's first show this weekend.

First show down and this bass kills! The EMG JAX pickups were the right choice and this will be my go to bass, the Mod Q5 stays home nowadays.

I run a set in my Warmoth jazz bass. Great pickups.
