now im trying to decide between these 2 pickup brands...the EMG's if i got them would definetly be active...so theres my questian i just want your honest opinion

EMG Vs. Bartolini

The best way for any of us to answer this would be for you to supply the following info:
- What is the kind of bass tone you're after? Aggressive or smooth? What kind of music do you expect to be playing?
- What sort of pickups fit your bass?

I would recommend EMG's because thats what I have and they are exquisite. Supposedly, EMG's are better for more dynamic / violent playing (super fast slapping, heavy metal finger style). However Barts are smoother, jazzier, and fatter. It all depends on what you play. Victor Wooten along w/ 3/4 pro heavy metal bassists use EMG's.
There's probably more than 50 different Bartolini models available. All kinds of different sounds. A P2 Quad Coil sounds very different from a 59J. Not to mention the fact that there's a "deep" or "bright" option on pretty much every opckup Bartolini makes.
EMG's selection is narrower, but there's still a fair bit of variety to be had there as well. For example, a 40TW sounds very different from a 40J.
They're both excellent quality, so it's not like either one is objectively "better"....... it depends on what you're trying to do. What kind of sound are you looking for? What kind of pickups will your bass accomodate? What size are the routes? Are you willing to expand the routes for a certain pickup? You have to answer all these things........
Asking "should I get EMGs or Barts" is like asking if you should wear a blue shirt or a green one..........
