Eminence Cannabass

Yeah the irony!
Marketing to weed lovers. I don't know any potheads who could afford a $270 speaker!

Introducing CannaBass™

(Another) spectacular looking bass driver from Eminence... And just when I was thinking of building a small portable single 10 cab!

That CBD treated cone seems to behave pretty good, it doesn't have the typical spike in the treble region. Only gripe is the (destructive) resonance at 500hz wich is caused by the cone edge but this is an issuea lot of drivers have. The TSP's show that this would be an excellent driver for a small ported cab. A 20 liter enclosure tuned to approx 57hz will give you 55hz -3dB with an efficiency of 95dB, not bad!

Pot jokes aside, I'm not impressed with the 10" model but the 15" model is a different story. It doesn't have as much treble extension as the Faital 15PR400 but the T/S parameters look pretty good. Modeled in Eminence Designer, it compares favorably and looks to be only about 0.5dB less sensitive and with a less extended treble than the Faital but can handle 500 watts down to 39.0 Hz in a 2.72 cu-ft enclosure tuned to 51.2 Hz.

This driver looks like it would be good in a 2-way system with a quality HF horn. The Faital STH100 Tractrix horn with an Eminence F151M HF driver and a 3rd order high pass at 1960 Hz looks like it would provide a good full range response.

The CB3010N-8 is interesting to me because there hasn't been a full-range 10 in the Kappalite line. But there has been a full-range (for bass) 15 - the 3015. Wondering why you might pick the CB3015N-8 over the KL 3015.

OK, 'Hemp to Be Square' in E, here we go, 1, 2, 3 . . . .

If I used CBD speakers, my ears WON'T hurt?

' . . . . nah man, I was clean, but the K9 alerted to my speaker cab . . . . '

Warms up, smells great.

Waddya mean, it can only be re-coned in Colorado?

' . . . . ever since I put those new Eminence speakers in the cabinet, halfway through the set, I GOT to have Twinkies or some Little Debbies . . . .'

Nothing wrong with the KL3015 but quite a different voicing. The CB3015N would have more deep and upper bass but the KL3015 would be more sensitive and have stronger upper mids. This was just a simulation to see how this might work out. I actually prefer the 15PR400 voicing to the KL3015 (I've had both) and it really shines with a 5" mid. I just thought this CB3015N model looked interesting.
