Double Bass eminence scale - adjusting by moving the bridge?

so, i bought an old carved juzek 5/8 with a 39.5" ish scale last summer and i love it. it's a great size and scale for me.

i also picked up a used eminence eub for schlepping to rehearsals and such to save the juzek from this harsh ohio winter. well, i love the eminence too!

but I don't love the scale differences between the 2 basses. could it be as simple as moving the bridge appropriately closer to the fingerboard, thereby reducing the scale? (i assume the setup will be affected and will likely require adjustment)

thoughts? confirmations or corrections?

fingers crossed for a simple solution...

thanks,

tony
