Empress ParaEQ deluxe mkii- Opinions?

Interesting, I plan to use it as a set and forget second in the chain after the tuner before compression and drive. That so far seems to be the sweet spot. Doing some corrective eq and tightening the low end with the HPF and boosting bass into that at the same frequency. To my ears it sounds nice and tight and like I want my bass to sound. The boost will be used for the couple of passages where I need the bass to stand out and also being that it’s before drive I can boost into said drive pedal (Sushi Box Underground Accelerator for now) and get it to break up even more.
This is exactly how I am using it and I love it!

Yeah I gigged it last night for the first time and loved it. Bass in my ears was exactly how I wanted to hear it; nice and tight and punchy without any sort of clank or excessive lows/highs. This one is a keeper and my RC Booster is going to the classifieds as it was in the same role as my Empress is now

I just moved away from an Eden WT550 and added this to my board for EQ duty. I love having almost the same options for EQ and the ability to notch more specifically. The LPF/HPF functions kicked a broughton off the board. I’m also liking the ability to do the resonant boost into the same frequency as the HPF (as others have mentioned), something I wasn’t easily able to achieve before

Would be worth looking at the Source Audio EQ2, it's got the same features; parametric EQ and hpf.... Compare the prices and features. I have the empress and it's good, but am now thinking I should have looked at the SA EQ2.
My eq2 made noise.. I recorded it and showed the company… they told me to just “eq the noise out”… nothing was connected. Just the pedal itself. Eventide power max v2, one spot, cioks dc5, it made noise on them all. I even used a furman sb8 power strip / conditioner AND busted out my rack mounted furman (that thing usually always fixes any noise).
I got rid of the EQ2 and the Empress is never leaving my board.

I don’t understand why more people don’t love it… but I’m also an A1 sound engineer, so I’m picky. It was either this or a Broughton HPF, + LPF pedal plus a separate eq pedal.
