Double Bass Engelhardt amplification problems

Thanx a lot, I will definitely check these guys out to find out if they meet my standards!

If any of you out there are into electric bass groove, there is still a pretty much undiscovered genius out there. Have a look at Norman Watt-Roy who used to play with the late Ian Dury. (Well, never mind look but listen -- he ain´t exactly no Tom Cruise.) The guy even plays an upright sometimes. I went to London a year ago only to see and hear him and he is a total killer. www.theblockheads.com. OK, this doesn´t have a lot to do with URB but it just came to my mind...

You Could ditch the Fishman for starters.
It could be that the Englehardt has a far better acoustic tone than the Old Greta ???? and therefore that booming resonance is feedingback ??
Maybe you should try a Behringer Feedback destroyer? They are meant to be very good at eliminating this type of thing.

Just wondering how your ES-9 panned out. I have one myself and had huge sound issues. Replacing the bridge made a very big difference for mine. I still need to replace the post however. Also I found for what I playu=, nylon strings actually worked better than steel for high volume sound. Let me know what you did and what happened.

Hi there- Just wanting to join in on the replace-your-bridge chorus, I've replaced mine with one of Bob G's adjustables and replaced the post and tailpiece wire as well; the bridge made the biggest difference- Keep in mind though with the other adjustments like action/strings, every Engelhardt is different from not only every other bass, but every other Engelhardt bass, and what might work for me; higher action/gut strings, won't work for other Engel owners... And once you get it sounding good acoustically, then put that fishman on Ebay and get a Bassmax (another plug for Bob)- I never have feedback problems with this pickup- Good luck!

Hey, I actually did call Bob and ordered a Bass Max, now it sounds great. This weekend we played at a big biker party and I had to be really loud -- so I simply put the amp in front of me and boomed away like crazy...

The Fishman sounded awesome on my 100-y/o carved bass, haven´t tried the Bass Max on it yet but I guess the sound would blow me away!

hi tb people,
i've a problem in selecting the right solution for my bass.
It's a 3\4 gewa hybrid with a fix bridge.I'm using spiro weich.
The signal will be sent into a swr head plugging an swr goliath junior III.

I was thinking about bass max or golden trinity, but what about feedback resistance. Mic is really giving that natural shape when mixed with piezo?Double bass max?

i play 90% jazz.

i trust you.

I bought a BassMax from Bob as well. It is great. I also later added his condensor mic to add in some of the more natural sound. the mic of course is a feedback problem, but I keep it at a very low volume an it's fine. Adds the perfect touch.

My ES-9 has the nasty shiney finish bubbling all over the place. Anyone ever seen that before?

I too ordered the Bass Max and Power Pack from Bob for my ES9. I should have it soon and look forward to checking it out with my SWR Silverado 4x8. I had the bridge and strings replaced on my ES9 and hope that it will be fully functional as soon as I get my K&K goodies.
