I love my Robotalk 2. Has 2 filters that are voiced slightly differently that can be used individually or combined. I set one up for aggressive slap, the other for slow sweeping funk, and combined its a neat flange like effect. The Qballs does some really funky gurgling sounds, kinda wish I had kept the one I had.

When it comes to pedals, I've come to the realization that's it's all in the ears of the beholder and that includes me. I'm a fan of the MXR M82. To my ears, it's got an organic tone and I like the fact that I can control the "dry" and "fx" mix. This is what sold me. Plus, it's fairly easy to use. Read what everyone has to say, listen to samples on YouTube to narrow it down then go out and try them (if you can find them locally which is sometimes a problem). Good luck.

oh yeah, i got the MXR a few days ago and have been having a wet soupy time with it! i love this thing! pretty flexible and sounds awesome with my Musket and/or MXR Bass Octave pedals...yep, I'm deep into the envelope...

Yea +1 on the MXR. I like it better than my late 90s Qtron.

Don't rush by the MXR M82 just because there's fatter, funkier envelopes out there.
