Bingo! You did.

I see. So in seven days the anniversary of a year-long epic battle that'll take a million lives on both sides will take place, not a new year-long epic battle that'll take a million lives on both sides.

It sounds less psychotic when you announce the anniversary of two million deaths in battle, rather then what comes off as a prediction of two million deaths in battle.

Just following the same precedent

Five Days till the Empire Strikes Back!

I don't think it counts as precedent if you set it yourself. That's your thread. Another intentionally vague and bizarre one of yours that eventually got shut down.

And I saw no reason it was shut down either. Some people can post a threat about a booger they picked out of their nose and that's ok. I post about history and someone get all butt hurt? Whatever.

I love history. I promote it too. Don't like it don't look at my posts. There is nothing wrong with my post then or this one and I won't be told otherwise. Also I will probably have follow up on this after the 21st.

If people are interested in hearing an excellent retelling of the battle of Verdun, Dan Carlin did a six-part series on WWI on his Hardcore History podcast that is phenomenal.

Well, no, you kinda were told otherwise. Whether you learn from that or not is the part that you get to choose :D

If you don't tear up in that scene, even as a grown man, you're dead inside. Still not as bad as Frye's dog in Futurama though....

Oh, and Morla the turtle looks like Benedict Cumberbatch. Seriously.

Feel free to tell us how my post violates the forum's rules then.

Well clearly it goes against the Illuminati's policies. Duh. :D

Gorn was pointing out how it was bad in terms of how you delivered it. He was right. That's what I concurred with. Make so poor a thread that no one gets it and it will be considered s troll/garbage thread and closed, and that's whether you "won't be told otherwise" or not. This one is at least attempting to be a coherent thread close to the beginning.

That's a good way of putting it. Intentional vaguery. Why? To be provocative? If the point is the promote the remembering and reverence for an important historical event, why not just say it?

And, it sounds crazy. Taking a tragic event from history involving a lot of deaths and turning it into a prediction.

A buddy of mine OD'd on heroin a few years ago. I think it was at some point in March.

"He'll inject the needle into his arm like he had many times before. But this time it'll be different. This time he'll choke on his own vomit and die. His family and friends will weep for him".

See? Sounds a little psychotic that way, doesn't it?
