Epic battle: Verdun 1916

That's a good way of putting it. Intentional vaguery. Why? To be provocative? If the point is the promote the remembering and reverence for an important historical event, why not just say it?

And, it sounds crazy. Taking a tragic event from history involving a lot of deaths and turning it into a prediction.

A buddy of mine OD'd on heroin a few years ago. I think it was at some point in March.

"He'll inject the needle into his arm like he had many times before. But this time it'll be different. This time he'll choke on his own vomit and die. His family and friends will weep for him".

See? Sounds a little psychotic that way, doesn't it?
I think it's more braggadocio. People who are disposed to believe conspiracy theories often have a desire to "know more" than the common folk.

The OP reminded me of many people I know who speak with intentional vagueness so they can one-up other people who don't immediately understand what they're talking about. It's a power play.

It's not conversationally natural to make a thread mysteriously commemorating something in advance unless you're trying to show off, just like "random" knowledge bombs unrelated to a discussion aren't natural. The OP didn't provide information, it purposefully obfuscated it.

Well so because I do things differently you feel entitled to ridicule? Let me ask you, is this grade school?

Do I post like I do with history to be provocative? Are you a negative person?

One guy correctly guess what the thread was about. I though that was fun personally. Are you a negative person?

Is you glass half full or empty? Are you bugging a moderator to get my thread closed down? Are you a negative person?

Having a reveal after 7 days if no one gets the post is fun in my book. Are you a negative person?

They say the world is a learning place for souls. Are you satisfied with the lessons that you are learning? Or are you just a negative person?

IS everything the world according to you? Are you judgmental of others who do not conform to your world view? Are you a negative person?

Nope.

Seems that way.
Are you a negative person?
Nope.

If the glass was filled all the way and half was emptied out, it's half empty. If the glass was filled half way, the glass is half full. Some people are optimistic. Some are pessimistic. I'm a realist.

Cool

Haven't heard that one. Sounds kinda silly to me.
Are you satisfied with the lessons that you are learning?
That's an odd question. I try to learn something new every day.
Or are you just a negative person?
Nope.
IS everything thew world according to you?
I have no idea what you're saying.
Are you judgmental of others who do not conform to your world view?
Sometimes. Sure.
Are you a negative person?
Nope.

Really man. Do you really not see how it comes off as odd to describe the anniversary of millions of deaths by phrasing it like a prediction? It doesn't seem the least bit strange?

You fail to comprehend the intent. That of mixing history with today. That way it comes alive. We call it Living History.

Now I'm done with any justification in the face of this judgmental line of accusations. I've explained more then I needed to here, entertaining your off topic questions that piss on my thread. So we're done, you either get it or your don't. I just put One Drop on ignore because he can't handle discussion or disagreements. Anyone else want to join him just let me know.

I have better things to do then argue with of all people bass players.

Verdun wasn't epic. It was little more than the wholesale slaughter of alleged "inferiors", ordered by the sort of cowards who lead from the comfort of luxurious surroundings 100 miles away from any real danger

The horror didn't end at Verdun.
There were the Somme and Passchendaele waiting for the survivors
