I'm sure epifani used to have a preamp? the quest or something? has it been discontinued? I can't find it on their site anywhere...

yup....the quest reamp was discontinued last year i believe. musicians friend had a rediculous liquidation sale too...they were giving them away at arounf 400 bucks each...wish i snagged one when i couldve.
Damn, that really sucks! Now I'll have to try and find a second hand one on the net somewhere, as I seriously doubt there will be any available here in SA

These are very good preamps, and yes, a major steal when they were blowing them out ($500, I think). Here's the visual, FWIW (bottom rack):

I picked up a used one recently, it was worth the effort. It's clean, very clear and yet warm, a nice combination. The eq is very nicely voiced with epi cabs, haven't used it with anything else.
