There's a little market as far as I'm concerned...I have 3 'creased' drivers already and was considering re-coning them. I have 2 UL310 series I cabs so it might make sense for me to buy yours and have all 6 drivers re-coned. Let me know what you've found out about re-coning these...

What I've found about getting them reconed, after talking to B&C, is that you'll need the folks at Epifani to tell you or B&C what components they need for the correct kit. Then you'll need a distributor to order the kit for you, which will be made in Italy, and shipped back to the US. It could take a couple of months. The cost may not be too much less than just ordering new speakers. You may be able to get a stock recone kit, but it certainly would be a different sound.

So, it's doable, but may be some effort...

Let me know your thoughts. If you want some spares, I've got some...

A for sale bump.

I'm an above the board kind of guy. I want to be as transparent as possible about these speakers. First, these speakers are of an unknown age and are used, 10+ years perhaps? Second, all three speakers worked perfectly at my last 2 rehearsals. Third, ask any questions you need or want. Lastly, this will be an "as is" sale. I have provided honest descriptions including what to be aware of add the buyer. These speakers would be good backup speakers. I can't promise you that they'd make good, full time, gigging speakers. These speakers will be best for someone with a Series 1 UL cabinet who would like some spare speakers incase their's fail.

Speaker Model # is 10/099-16. To get recone kits, you'll need to find out from Epifani what components are needed, then you can have them ordered from B&C.

Speaker 1:
Cone separated from surround, with small tear in cone. Glued using Aleene's Flexible Stretchable glue (rated as a permanent fabric glue), about 3-4 thin coats. See pics. So far it has performed flawlessly, with no audible problems. It sounds as it should. No promises about how much you'll get out of it. Could be a few weeks, could be a few years. I have no way of knowing. The repair isn't the prettiest, but I think I did a thorough job.


Speaker 2:
Seems to have possibly been repaired in 2013. This is only a smart guess based on the fact that it's the only speaker of the three that has some initials and "2013" written on it, and it seems like there's a little bit of glue on the back of the surround. If it's the case that this was repaired in 2013, there's a good chance you'll get a bunch more years out of it.


Speaker 3:
Looks totally unadulterated. No evidence of repair, no evidence of damage. Since one speaker recently failed, there's a chance that this one may reaching the end of it's life too, but who knows. There looks to be maybe a little hairline crease in the cone right by where it attaches to the surround in the picture below. It's intact at the moment, but maybe a little preemptive glue on the back of the surround would be a good precaution. Could be a good backup speaker.

I know someone needs spares for their series 1 cab.

If you've got them, I want them. I also PMed you.
