Time to show off my new bass. I picked this up off CL a couple months ago. According to bassmonkey.net (thanks, Wendy!) it's from '58-64, which is perfect since I'm a '63 model myself.
I had a new endpin installed and a small separation repaired. My luthier also had some lightly used gut strings, which is the sound I really want, so I had him put them on, too. Love the sound! It came with a bassmax pickup but there was some sort of buzzing so I took it off. I bought a new Rev Solo but haven't installed it yet. I also picked up an fdeck hpf 2m from the man himself since he's right here in Madison.
I can't wait to get my playing up to speed so I can start gigging with it! We play old school country and honky tonk music so it should fit right in!
