Epiphone Eb-0 mudbucker impedence

i just bought an Epiphone EB-0 to convert to EB-6 however it was sounding weak before starting disasseblying it. I measured the impedence (actually resistance) and it was just 1.2 kOhm.
I suppose something is wrong, my Gibson is 30 kOhm, and another Artec I have is 29 kOhm.

Any of you has a chance to measure on another EB0?

Mine is about the same. Apparently they use thicker gauge wire which has lower DC resistance. I started a thread on it a while back, I believe it was titled "Low DCR pickups". There's a good bit of information there.

I'm not sure why it sounds weak, the mudbucker in mine sounds pretty strong, though a bit brighter than a normal mudbucker. Perhaps the electronics are having issues? What are you running it into?

Thanks for the info. The sound is very weak compare to the the other Mudbuckers that I have on other basses with the same setup of the amplifier, the signal is definitely lower. However, I do not care so much since I am going to convert the bass in a EB6 replacing the pickup

What replacement are you thinking about? I just bought an eb-0 myself and noticed the low output at my last gig. Haven't taken the pup out to measure resistance yet, just wondering.

I am converting the bass to a EB-6 and will install two PAF replicas. Best replacement for EB-0 I think is mudbucker from the '60. The Artec one is cheap and plays well. I use it on a Jazz bass in neck position. However they are reported for uneven quality. Mine luckily has no issues.
Another replacement is Di Marzio Model One. I have on another bass, but it is a different PU. No mud and quite high output.
