what do you think about EPIPHONE EB-0
for jazz and funk? is it punchy enough?

I have one, it would never work for slap. First, it's short-scale. Second, it has no treble whatsoever.

Besides feeling chunky and poorly built, It's just not made for the funk. More like the drunk.

If your looking for an affordable slapper, get the squire vintage J or something. That's probably not the best , but I'll bet you could get some suggestions.

I had one of the early ones ... better than whats offered today, as mine had the actual woodgrain 'cherry' finish ... current ones are painted red and called 'cherry' ... intonation was terrible, and very tough to adjust at the bridge, very tricky and I never was able to get it right ... as mentioned very deep, low sound with the single HB at the neck, nothing punchy about it, and not one I would even consider for playing funk ... if you want/need short scale, I would look at the Mustang RI ... if you are just after cheap, lotsa good options out there currently in the sub 200 range ...

maybe a yamaha rbx-170... not sure... jazz definitely.. but slapping dunno. Not sure how well it would do, but it would be better than the epi eb0. Maybe a squier possibly too...

I bought an Epiphone EB-O to take on a trip with me last year. I sent it back to MF the next day. The intonation was very bad, it had neck dive and just wasn't what I was expecting. Also, compared to the original Gibson EB-O the headstock looked abnormal it was so much bigger than the Gibson. Of course I guess that's why there was the neck dive.
